What is summer study abroad and what courses are available?

If you are an international student, a summer study abroad programme allows you to spend 2, 4 or 8 weeks studying in the UK.

Group study abroad programmes are offered to universities and colleges who wish to send groups of students to the UK to learn specific skills.

When do courses start and how much do they cost?

Courses for individuals start in July or August.

Bespoke group courses are available all year round and can be offered both in the United Kingdom and internationally.

  • Music Video

    Since the early 1960's, the British music industry has dominated the world stage. UK artists, producers and directors play a leading role influencing international music culture. The international market place regularly employs the talents of British music video directors.

  • Film Directing

    A course designed specifically for filmmakers who want to direct on film using professional actors. You will shoot a 16mm sync sound film, either from your own script or we help you develop one.

  • Photography

    Our courses explore contemporary photographic practice within a broad cultural context. Your individual creativity and personal ambition are at the centre of the course's philosophy rather than an imposed 'house style'. We will encourage you to undertake an expansive, risk-taking enquiry into the possibilities of photography.

  • Fashion UK

    Studying fashion in the UK will give you a competitive advantage, preparing you with the right blend of skills necessary to succeed within the global market place. This is your chance to spend 3 weeks in the Fashion Department of a world famous University College.Fashion professionals will discuss current UK trends and provide insight on 'life as a fashion designer'.

  • Costume UK

    The Arts University College at Bournemouth in the United Kingdom is hosting a specialist costume summer school, Costume UK. Our courses enjoy an excellent reputation in the creative industries and many are considered to be among the best in Europe.

  • 3D Animation

    12 Week introductory course -whether you are building your portfolio for professional or personal interest; this course will help you reach your goal. Animation embraces a wide range of styles, approaches and themes. As we have moved into the 21st century and the digital age animation is recognised as a great entertainer. Maya is the ideal tool to create special effects. It can be used to render surfaces such as skin, fur and hair on a model, rippling flags and mimic subtle movements and shifts of cloth on figures.

    Bespoke summer courses are offered to groups who have specific educational needs. These flexible programmes are designed to cater for all areas within the creative industry, and can be offered during various times of the year in the UK and at universities and organisations abroad.
